Not all car maintenance needs to be done by a mechanic. Many of the basic summer car maintenance duties can be done at home by yourself. Save the time and money and perform these 4 items on your own:
- Check your oil. This is difference from a complete oil change that needs to be done by your mechanic. Simply check to make sure you have enough oil and add if necessary.
- Check all of your fluids while the hood is already open. Top off any fluids that need some attention.
- Make sure your tires are properly inflated. Properly inflated tires will promote gas conservation and will improve your car’s handling.
- Wash and wax your car to prevent any damages to the coat. Cover any cars that you won’t be driving during the summer to avoid any sun damage.
It is important that you leave the technical work to the professionals. Have your mechanic check your radiator, your battery, and your AC to make sure they are working properly.
